LOCATION: TBILISI

Tbilisi, capital of Georgia, was founded in the 4th century by King Vakhtang Gorgasali on the site of its warm mineral-water springs. Tbilisi is an awe-inspiring city with ancient and fascinating history. It is a lively town with friendly people, that offers many cultural and leisure activities.

PROJECT/MOTIVATION:

The Charity Union of the Large Families of Georgia "For Future of Georgia" (President Mrs. JILDA GORGADZE) is non-business legal person determined by the Civil Codex of Georgia that is created on the principle of equality of the members and aimed to assist large families. GLFCU is association of large families in Georgia founded in February 2003, in Tbilisi capital of Georgia. The main goals are to protect and care those families. Promote cultural- educational and charitable programs, material empowerment of orphan children and their parents, legal and social financial support (mainly by donations) of large families in Georgia. In Georgia there are 62487 families with more than three children. GLFCU has two independent branches in Rustavi and Kobuleti (black sea). There are registered families with different nationalities and religions. GLFCU has big plans in the social, medical, cultural- including public and education sectors. The use of volunteers is particularly important for the successful development of future generations. We will be happy to find a permanent partner organizations in the EU for the implementation of joint projects.

ACCOMMODATION:

In host families. In Tbilisi, the district Gldani. Every residential place is located in the clean environment with garden, terrace. The comfortable apartment (3 rooms with 5 beds in 2 rooms, TV+ internet) with constant electricity, cold and warm water, heating, kitchenette, refrigerator, bath room and toilette.

FOOD: Will be provided three times a day. The volunteer will have also the opportunity to make one cooking course of Georgian cuisine with a camp leader.

WORK ACTIVITIES:

(4-5 hours per day.) We are looking for good Russian or English speaking volunteers, who can share their knowledge by practicing with the pupils of different schools every year (between 9-14 and 15-17 age group).

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU: You can also bring music instruments with you, tapes with your favorite national songs and music, symbols of your country, posters, photo/video camera maybe some toys and ideas to entertain children and of course your good mood.

LEISURE TIME: Camp leaders from LYVG will organize free time with the participants: excursions in historical places of Tbilisi, Mzcheta and Djvari.

LANGUAGE: English, Russian, Georgian.

THE LIMITION OF THE PROGRAM: min. 2 - max. 5 persons

AGE: 18 - 26

PARTICIPATION FEE: 150 - 200,00 EUR for 14 - 20 days (incl. transport service from airport).
